"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!" Whitestar's yowl sounded throughout the clearing as he spoke the familiar words to call the Clan to a meeting. At last there was good news to report to his Clan! He waited at his perch on the large rock that was the Clan meeting place, silently watching the cats emerge from wherever they might be.

Paintedpool walked out of the Nursery, her kits behind her. Happy as she was, she was said about the one still-born kit. She had always heard storys about not have all of the litter live, but she never thought it would happen to her. "Come on." She called to her kits, even though they were not old enough to catch there own pray, Paintedpool would never leave them.
Flintkit ran next to her mother. She was happy to be with her. "Mama, where we going?" She asked.
"To a clan meeting..."

Frostkit kept silent as he slowly padded after his mother and siblings. Speaking would only distract him; after all, he was blind. He had to concentrate on following the sound of his mother's and siblings' meows. His ears were pricked and with cautious steps he hurried off after Paintedpool.
Thoughts bounced around in his head, all clamoring to be asked. Where was this meeting held? Was there something important Whitestar had to say? Where was Paintedpool taking him and his siblings? Distracted, his paws began to lead him astray, and without realizing it he began to wander off in the direction of the camp entrance.
Whitestar lifted his gaze from the cats below to the nursery. The sound of kit voices had woken him from his thoughtful reverie, and he looked to see Paintedpool leading her kits to the Highrock. Flintkit was bouncing along beside her mother, clearly excited to be with her mother on their way to a meeting. Spottedkit he could not see; presumably she was hidden from his sight by one of the other gathering cats. But where was Frostkit? Surely Paintedpool wouldn't leave him in the nursery alone. Then he spotted the tell-tale white fur, and with a jolt of alarm he realized the sightless kit was wandering straight towards the entrance to the camp. "Paintedpool! Look out for Frostkit!" he called as a warning, unable to leap off the Highrock and retrieve the kit himself without crushing multiple cats in the process.

Paintpool's head spun around to the area of the entrence. "Frostkit!" She cried. Running over to him, she picked him put by the scuff. After rejoining her other kits, of witch seemed so alarmed when she was not paying all her fousce on them, she set Frostkit down and raped her tail around him, so that he wouldn't move, and started licking him, to show confert. "Thank StarClan!" She wispered.
Flintkit stood stareing at her blind brother, in shock of how she was finally getting somewhere with all the questions she had to ask her mother, and how quickly Frostkit had taken it away. Than she flashed a scorn at her brother, as if she was the mother of this blind tom. "Blind fool!" She wispered.

Frostkit stared in the direction of Flintkit, hurt shining in his sightless eyes. His hearing had become so good that he could hear what cats were talking about at the other end of the clearing, and with that kind of hearing he certainly couldn't have missed his sister's comment. Was that really what his sibling thought of him? Maybe he was right in thinking that he was never going to fit in with the rest of ThunderClan. "I didn't ask you what you thought of me, Flintkit," he hissed. After a moment he added, "But, of course, who cares what I have to say? I already figured out that you and the rest of the Clan don't want me here. I hear how the Clan talks about me. A hinderance to the Clan is all I am. Who cares about poor blind Frostkit? He's never going to be anything but a useless furball who can't even see where his clumsy paws are taking him!"
Whitestar froze as Frostkit's tirade of anguish reached his ears. Who had told him he was a hinderance? That was certainly not true...

Paintedpool jerked her head up. "You will always mean it all to me!" She snorted. Was she really that bad of a mother? "Flintkit, let StarClan have mercy on you!" She was upset with her daughter's behavior and use of words. She would be punished for this but Paintedpool would punish her daughter when the whole clan wasn't watching.

Frostkit blinked gratefully at Paintedpool. At least someone wanted him here...Then his gaze went back to Flintkit. He felt somewhat guilty for his outburst. His sister was probably just frustrated with the way he always seemed to get a little more attention than his siblings. In their eyes, that is. "Sorry for snapping at you, Flintkit," he apologized quietly, his sightless eyes fixed on his paws. "I guess I overreacted a little bit. I don't try to get all the attention...but you can see. That makes us even, right? I get a certain kind of attention that you don't, and you can see colors and Silverpelt and everything I can't!" Frostkit desperately wanted to make up with his sister. He hated when cats were mad at him.
Whitestar meowed a summon again, calling the attention to himself. "I suppose we should get on with the meeting." He flicked his tail towards the direction of the entrance. "As I'm sure you know, the prey is as scarce as it has ever been. I'm sorry to say that we are now forced to ration our fresh-kill. We must be sure that the queens have enough food, to ensure that they and their kits survive this harsh time. Later I shall appoint someone to take care of this duty while our deputy is away." Whitestar shook his head sadly. If only that patrol would hurry back from searching for prey past the uplands...Desperate times were near if the Clan had to resort to rationing.

Paintedpool sighed. He was right, and knew deep in her heart that he was probaly weaping. Who wants to see there clan die out? Paintedpool would have gone without food, but her kits... She kept lisening to the meeting intently.
Flintkit just threw her head up at the apology of Frostkit.

Whitestar blinked slowly and shook himself in a final attempt to hide his despair from the Clan. Seeing him in such a state would only frighten the ThunderClan cats. Fortunately for the white-pelted leader, it seemed to work. When Whitestar looked out at his Clan again, new resolve shined in his eyes. "I'm afraid there's something else that must be discussed." His gaze traveled over the assembled cats until it finally came to rest on Frostkit, his eyes barely revealing hidden sorrow. "I'm sure you all know that there are only a few moons left before Paintedpool's kits become apprentices. While Frostkit is certainly worthy of becoming an apprentice of ThunderClan, we must take into account the fact that he cannot see. I would like to ask the Clan their opinion on this matter." He gazed steadily at his Clan. "Would any cat be willing to train Frostkit, if we so decide to initiate him as an apprentice?"
Frostkit blinked away his hurt at Flintkit's refusal to forgive him as Whitestar spoke once more. Him? An apprentice? That would be wonderful if the Clan decided he was able to become one. But what about his being blind? Surely no cat would be willing to undertake such a heavy task.

Whitestar nodded curiously, encouraging Paintedpool to continue on. Unless, of course, she would prefer to say what need to be said away from the many other ears.
Frostkit stared up in the direction his mother in confusion. The way of a warrior was not his path? What did that mean?

"Whitestar, may we descus this later?" Paintedpool asked, drawing her gaze to her leader. She prayed he wouldn't mind waiting to know what she ment.

Whitestar dipped his head in agreement. "Of course. I do suppose we should move on with the meeting...The next issue of importance is the Gathering." He named only a few cats, a clear sign of how much the Clan had suffered from the harsh leafbare. "I would also like Glowpelt to attend. Frozenstep will be in charge of the camp while we are away." He leapt down from his perch and glanced at Paintedpool, indicating that if she wished to speak with him he would be in his den. He then vanished into the said den.
((Sad...I can't take any RPed cats except Glowpelt to the Gathering. Paintedpool's nursing kits and Frozenstep mysteriously vanished. XD))
